INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIAN MEDITATION TRAINING

We offer one on one Christian meditation training.  The online session is one hour long with a trained Christian meditation teacher.  You will learn the history, the benefits, why Christian meditation is a transformative practice, and how to meditate as a Christian. The cost for the training is $75.  Once registered, we will work together to schedule the session.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual direction is a contemplative and relational process aimed at assisting individuals in exploring and deepening their spiritual journey. It involves a one-on-one relationship between a trained spiritual director and a directee, with the purpose of discerning and nurturing the directee’s relationship with the divine or their innermost self.

In spiritual direction, the spiritual director serves as a guide, companion, and witness to the directee’s spiritual experiences, questions, and insights. The director creates a safe and sacred space for the directee to reflect upon their beliefs, values, and experiences in light of their spiritual path. The focus is on helping the directee develop a greater awareness of the divine presence, discover their authentic self, and cultivate a deeper connection with their Christian tradition.

Spiritual direction is not about providing answers or advice, but rather about deep listening, asking thought-provoking questions, and offering gentle guidance. The director helps the directee discern their inner wisdom, recognize patterns and themes in their spiritual life, and explore the meaning and purpose of their experiences. The ultimate goal is to support the directee in their spiritual growth, alignment with their values, and the integration of their spirituality into their daily life.

Spiritual direction is a confidential and non-judgmental process, emphasizing respect for the directee’s autonomy and personal journey. Ultimately, spiritual direction seeks to foster a deeper connection with the sacred, promote self-discovery, and facilitate spiritual transformation and well-being.

Teresa Yerkes brings nearly 40 years of her own personal discovery, along with highly specialized spiritual direction training from the Shalem Institute located in Washington DC.  She is also a Christian meditation teacher and a certified lay Christian counselor.  She doesn’t charge for spiritual direction.  Instead, Teresa invites you to make a donation to the Christian Meditation Center.
