We are embarking on a new and exciting adventure! Several years ago, we received a vision to build a chapel, used only for prayer and meditation, and a retreat center in a beautiful, wooded area. The first part of the adventure is completed. We created a building plan for the two structures. The best way to share the information is to show you the amazing work our Architect, Frank Rapisarda has done. We are so grateful for his ability to take the vision into this extraordinary creation.
CHRISTIAN MEDITATION CENTER'S VISION FOR THE FUTURE
It was while attending a Taizé service that the Lord showed Teresa Yerkes a vision of what the inside of the chapel would look like. Imagine yourself walking into the chapel and the interior floor plan has a circular layout. The seating is set up in a circle with several rows of seats. There are windows everywhere you look, and your view is a beautiful, peaceful natural setting in the woods. You will feel like you are praying or meditating in the woods. In the center of the chapel, there will be a beam of light. The chapel will only be used for prayer and meditation; harkening back to the scripture, “My house will be called a house of prayer.”
Our hope is this endeavor excites you as well. We are looking for donations to pay to turn the vision into a reality. This effort can be quite costly, and we rely solely on generous donors. If you are unable to support us financially, please pray for us. We realize this is a big adventure we are entering into, but we trust God for all that is needed to make it happen.
Situated in a wooded setting, this beautiful retreat center will be a state-of-the-art learning center offering seating for 100 people. It can be used for community or family gatherings for all occasions. There will be an on-site kitchen, so meals or refreshments can easily be provided. Guests can take leisurely walks through wooded paths or sit on a bench and admire God’s creation.
