That You May Believe: Exploring the Gospel of John

Sundays | 2:30 – 4:00 PM
March 1 – April 12, 2026
Hosted by Christian Meditation Center

The Gospel of John is written with a clear and compelling purpose:
“That you may believe … and have life in His name.” (John 20:31)

This 7-week study will follow a thematic journey through John’s Gospel during the Lenten season, leading us toward Easter. Rather than moving verse-by-verse through every chapter, we will explore the key signs, teachings, and encounters that reveal Jesus’ identity and mission.

Together we will examine:

  • The Word Made Flesh
  • New Birth and Living Water
  • Bread of Life
  • The Good Shepherd
  • Glory and Servanthood
  • The Cross
  • Resurrection and Restoration

Each session includes teaching, discussion, reflection questions, and time for Q&A. Participants are encouraged to engage thoughtfully and bring their questions.

Meet Your Facilitators

Tom Acey

Tom Acey is 84 years young and describes his spiritual journey as one that has spanned the spectrum—from atheism to devoted follower of Jesus Christ. For more than 30 years, he has created, taught, and facilitated workshops, trainings, and both live and online classes.

The Gospel of John has become foundational to Tom’s understanding of the real Jesus. His vision for this study is that the Word—both the Person of Christ and the written Scripture—would become living and active in the hearts of each participant.

Harold Chen

Harold Chen is a New Jersey resident, retired telecommunications engineer, devoted husband, and father of two adult sons who has spent many years walking closely with Scripture. He recently completed an 18-month Life of Christ and Introduction to Pastoral Theology program through Theological Education by Extension and has long been active in a men’s group with Bible Study Fellowship International.

Having previously taught the Gospel of John and currently worshiping at Calvary Chapel Old Bridge, Harold brings both thoughtful study and lived faith to his teaching. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve through the Christian Meditation Center and looks forward to engaging others in reflective, Christ-centered exploration of God’s Word.
