DESCRIPTION:Screen-Free Retreat Weekend\nA Time to Unplug\, Rest\, and Listen for God \nJune 5–7 | Greeley\, PAFriday 3:00 p.m. – Sunday 12:00 noon \nWe invite you to step away from the noise and demands of everyday life and enter into a spacious weekend of rest\, prayer\, Scripture\, and silence. \nThis screen-free retreat is designed to help you quiet external distractions so you can become more attentive to God’s presence—within and around you. \nRetreat Location\nThe retreat will be held in Greeley\, PA\, on 63 peaceful acres surrounded by woods and a flowing stream behind the house.There are walking paths\, quiet places to sit and read\, and space to simply be. \nThe home is large and welcoming\, with 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms\, offering comfort and room to breathe. \nWhat the Weekend Includes\n\nGuided Christian meditation sessions\nTime in Scripture and quiet reflection\nExtended free time for rest\, walking\, journaling\, or prayer\nA gentle invitation to a screen-free fast (phones\, tablets\, computers\, and TV)\nA peaceful\, unhurried rhythm—no pressure\, no over-scheduling\n\nMeals & Hospitality\nThe retreat includes: \n\nDinner on Friday and Saturday\nLunch on Saturday\nBreakfast on Saturday and Sunday\nLight refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the weekend\n\nRetreat Directors\nThe retreat will be guided by Teresa Yerkes and Vicki Simek\, who will serve as spiritual directors throughout the weekend\, offering gentle leadership\, presence\, and prayerful guidance. \nScreen-Free Invitation\nParticipants are invited to refrain from using phones\, computers\, tablets\, and television during the retreat. This is not about restriction\, but about creating space—space to notice\, listen\, and receive what God is already offering. \nWe understand that occasional check-ins may be necessary\, and we encourage mindful\, intentional use if needed. \nMeet Your Leaders \nTeresa Yerkes is the Founder of the Christian Meditation Center\, has been a devoted Christian since 1983 and has practiced Christian meditation since 2000. She is the author of five books. Teresa teaches and leads Christian meditation training and sessions. She is a public speaker who facilitates book clubs and leads retreats. \nShe is married to her husband\, Bill\, and is a mother to three children and a grandmother to six grandchildren. She loves their two yellow labs\, Lucy and Peaches\, and their cat\, Gracie. Her favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading and taking walks with her husband and their dogs. \nVicki Simek is a teacher\, student\, writer\, editor and dog whisperer. Divine Parallels is her first published piece of work.  She co-facilitates a study group for A Course in Miracles and has posted the daily lessons for the past decade. In addition\, Vicki leads two meditation sessions weekly and serves as treasurer for the Christian Meditation Center. \nVicki has spent her entire career in education\, first in higher education and later in the public schools of Baltimore County. She has been married to her husband C.J for 32 years and has two adult children\, Marlowe and Ian. She whispers to her yellow lab\, Libby\, daily.  She loves to read\, write\, and cook for her family and friends. \nAbout Our Accommodations \nThe retreat is set on a beautiful 63-acre property in Greeley\, Pennsylvania\, with a peaceful stream that flows along the back of the retreat house. You’ll find a few photos below that capture the setting. \nThe retreat house features eight spacious guest rooms\, most with queen-sized beds\, along with five bathrooms and a large\, comfortable gathering area—perfect for community connection and quiet reflection. \nThe closest airport is Wilkes–Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP / KAVP). \n \n \n \n  \nWhy Attend? \nIn the busyness of life\, it’s easy to lose sight of the sacred.
