SUMMARY:Advent Study
DESCRIPTION:Come\, Thou Long Expected Jesus\nFrom Bethlehem to Glory: The Promise of His Coming and the Hope of His Return\nA Four-Week Advent Bible Study\nSundays\, November 29 – December 20\, 2026\nLed by Leigh McCarthy \n“Come\, Thou long-expected Jesus\, born to set Thy people free.”\n— Charles Wesley \nA Journey of Promise\, Fulfillment\, Expectation\, and Glory\nAdvent is a season of waiting\, anticipation\, and hope. But what are we truly waiting for? \nThis Advent season\, the Christian Meditation Center invites you to join Leigh McCarthy for a meaningful four-week journey through Scripture that takes us beyond the traditional Christmas story. \nInspired by Charles Wesley’s beloved hymn\, Come\, Thou Long-Expected Jesus\, we will explore the unfolding story of God’s promises—from the ancient prophecies announcing the coming Messiah to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem and the glorious hope of His promised return. \nJesus came. Jesus is with us. Jesus will come again. \nThroughout this study\, we will reflect on the faithfulness of God\, the fulfillment of His promises\, and what it means to live as people of hope in a world longing for redemption. \nTogether\, we will consider how Christ’s first coming changed the course of history\, how His promises shape our lives today\, and how His return will bring God’s redemptive plan to its glorious completion. \nWhat You Can Expect\nDuring our four weeks together\, we will explore: \nWeek 1 – The Promise | November 29\nGod’s unfolding promise of a Savior and the anticipation of His coming. \nWeek 2 – The Fulfillment | December 6\nThe arrival of Jesus Christ and the significance of His first coming. \nWeek 3 – The Expectation | December 13\nJesus’ promise to return\, the hope of the resurrection\, and what it means to live with faith and joyful expectation as we await His coming. \nWeek 4 – The Consummation | December 20\nThe glorious fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan—the defeat of death\, the removal of the curse\, and the restoration of all things as God dwells forever with His redeemed people. \nThrough Scripture\, reflection\, and meaningful conversation\, we will prepare our hearts not only to celebrate Christ’s birth but also to live in the hope of His promised return. \nStudy Information\nDates: November 29\, December 6\, 13\, and 20\, 2026\nDay: Sundays\nTime: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. ET\nStudy Leader: Leigh McCarthy\nHosted by: Christian Meditation Center \nAdditional study details will be provided to registered participants. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet Your Study Leader\nLeigh McCarthy is a Christian Meditation Teacher with the Christian Meditation Center and a licensed somatic psychotherapist.
